I love the examination of how we seem to forget that every great historical figure has the “bad years” where they couldn’t do a lot right. Van Gogh’s early work immediately comes to mind.
We tend to rush genius in our society because fame can happen almost instantly. When you are surrounded by examples of young entrepreneurs who are successful on a massive scale, we tend to forget that so many of our great historical figures that we look up to, sucked for a long time.
